Understanding ICSE Pre-boards: Results, Trends, and Insights
Hey fellow humans! So, the pre-boards results came back on January 3rd, but I am a late QUEEN, hehe. Here are my marks:
My Pre-boards Performance
1. English Language - 68/80
2. English Literature - 73/80
3. Hindi - 68/80
4. Physics - 61/80
5. Chemistry - 60/80
6. Biology - 65/80
7. History/Civics - 48/80
8. Geography - 66/80
9. Maths - 71/80
10. Computer Applications - 95/100
The Best of 5 - 89.4
In my opinion, I could have done better because the highest in my class was 95.5. Remember, if you have the potential, you can do anything! Sending positive vibes and hugs!!
Things Really Changed in Prelim Exams
I was first in my class and got 89.6 in all pre-boards. If you score a good percentage even if a few exams say 1 or 2, it will become an habit, and your brain starts thinking better, and so the trend of good marks continues. However, don't get overconfident. Even though your prelims have been brilliant, you might end up scoring much lower, which is what happened to me. So, hope it satisfies you!
Veer to Various Experiences
Around 80, I think, is about how well I performed in my pre-boards. I neither remember my pre-board marks nor can I find my class 10th pre-board marksheet to be honest. I scored 93.2 in boards, so obviously, there was a good increment in marks.
Namaste. In the pre-boards conducted by our school before the 2018 boards, I had scored something around 85. In the Board Exams, I got 95. Pre-boards are usually tougher than the actual exams. So, they are merely a yardstick to judge your command over the syllabus, not to speculate on your board percentages.
Pre-boards vs. Board Results
Preboards have nothing to do with board results. They are preparatory only to help you self-assess your flaws and level. Percentages come from the actual day performance in the boards.
In 2019 for class 10 ICSE, I scored 91 something in my pre-boards, and I got 97 percent on boards. The pre-boards are usually tougher, and the average increase in the board percentage is 5-10 compared to pre-boards. I hope this helps!
