The non-stop activity leaves little room for relaxation, although some of the fun activities can be found if one is alert for them. Academics and physical training are two of the most important aspects, and cadets are expected to excel in both to earn their wings and take on greater responsibilities.

Surviving the first couple of years and passing with flying colors is a testament to one's determination and perseverance. The academy's cadre takes on a different role after the academic year, often becoming more lenient and supportive leading up to Hell Week, which is the intense boot camp period just before recognition and graduation.
