Preparing for NEET: Insights from Mock Test Scores and Strategies

How Much Did You Score in the NTA Mock Test for NEET?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts a series of mock tests for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) to prepare students for the exam. These tests are designed to simulate the actual NEET exam conditions, thus helping aspirants to gauge their preparation level. Over the last two months, I have taken around 40 full syllabus tests and 10 part-syllabus tests. Here are my scores:

According to the NTA answer key, my final score is 678, which is similar to my mock test scores in my previous tests. This score is a reflection of consistent preparation and the effectiveness of the strategies employed during the mock tests. While my scores have varied, my average score is approximately 640, providing a solid base for NEET preparation.

Mock Test Scores and NEET Expectations

As per my experience, the average score in mock tests generally reflects the probable score in the actual NEET exam. In the past, my mock test scores ranged from a low of 520 to a high of 590 in the 2024 batch, with an expected mark of around 611.

Preparation Strategy and Enrolled Institutions

I was enrolled in Akash Patna for a year during my preparation for the 2022-23 batch. My scores were typically above 600, with a lowest score being in the 560s and a highest score of 670. I was mostly within the range of 620 to 650 in my monthly and AIATS (All India Analysis Tests) tests. The intensive batch was chosen because of my consistent performance from the start. I covered the 11th class portion while also studying the 12th class material due to my thorough understanding of most topics from my drop year.

Teachers in Akash Patna have been instrumental in maintaining a consistent pace and setting rough goals for the topics to be covered. Attending regular classes was also essential to maintain a routine. Even though I had a good command of the material, I still attended classes to ensure regularity and benefit from teacher insights.

Studying habits varied, with some days devoted to 2 hours of study and other days extending to 5–6 hours. However, no day was skipped without studying. This dedication and consistency were crucial for achieving high scores in the mock tests and the actual NEET exam.

Personal Experiences and Validation

For instance, my least score was 575, and my highest score was 692, bringing my overall average to 640. This range demonstrates the inevitability of variation and the need for continuous evaluation and improvement.

It is important to note that mock test scores can vary widely, and achieving a consistent high score is a testament to rigorous preparation and effective study strategies. My preparation involved a combination of self-study, consistent attendance at classes, and setting realistic goals for topics to cover. These strategies, along with dedication and hard work, have helped me to perform well in both mock tests and the actual NEET exam.

Additional Insights

Other mock tests I have taken include results from Neet Abhyas, where I scored 641 in the first test, and my score improved in the second test. The ability to manage time effectively, as seen in preparing for AIATS tests, has contributed to better performance in subsequent exams.
