PI WAT Experience at SLS Noida: A Comprehensive Guide
Welcome to this comprehensive guide on the PI and WAT experience at SLS Noida for the BBA LLB programme in 2019. This article provides insights and a detailed account of the examination process, along with tips and advice for prospective students.
The Application and Preparation Process
My journey at SLS Noida began only a day after a tiring late-night flight from Pune. After a promising PIWAT (Personal Interview and Written Assessment Test) at SLS Pune, I was ready to face the next round at Noida. I applied only for the BBA LLB programme, which relieved me of some tension.
My performance at the PI WAT at Noida was quite straightforward. My score was 13 marks above the cutoff, so I just needed to perform decently in the PI. However, the key was to stay confident and stay true to oneself.
The Written Assessment Test (WAT)
After the initial registration and a wait of about two hours, we were called for the Written Assessment Test (WAT). Each classroom had a strength of 10-12 students, and we had a limited time of 30 minutes to complete the task. We were also given a restriction of about 2 pages for our response.
The WAT task offered us two topics to choose from:
Role of technology in disaster management All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue themInterestingly, the topics assigned did not require any general awareness or legal knowledge, unlike those at SLS Pune. This made the process more straightforward and focussed on content rather than external knowledge.
The Personal Interview (PI)
The Personal Interview (PI) at SLS Noida was a much smoother process. Here are a few key points from my experience:
Preparation: Since I had already undergone the PI process at SLS Pune the previous day, I was mentally prepared. Extracurricular Work: The interviewers were highly impressed by my extracurricular activities, particularly mentioning that I had the thickest file of all applicants, which apparently could net additional points. General Questions: The PI started with general questions such as 'Why law?', 'Is there anyone in the legal field at home?', 'Tell us about yourself', 'Strengths', and 'Hobbies'. Singing Interrupt: One of the unexpected twists was when the panel asked me to sing a song after I mentioned singing as a hobby. Despite beating around the bush, they were clearly tired and my spontaneous performance made them relax and enjoy the conversation.Key Takeaways and Advice
The key to success in both the WAT and PI is confidence, full preparation, and the ability to articulate thoughts clearly. Here are a few tips for students preparing for these exams:
Stay Relaxed: Prepare but do not overthink. Confidence is crucial and it shows. Be True to Yourself: Do not try to be someone you are not. Authenticity is the key. Presentation Matters: While content is king, the way you present your thoughts and ideas is equally important. Extra Curriculars: If applicable, showcase any extracurriculars or activities that you have undertaken, as they can really stand out to the panel. Be Ready for Anything: The PI is not a one-size-fits-all situation. Be ready to answer a variety of questions and stay calm and composed. Conclusion
The PI and WAT experience at SLS Noida offers a comprehensive insight into the personal assessment process for the BBA LLB programme. By following the advice and staying confident, students can make a strong impression and secure a spot at this prestigious institution.
