As a prospective medical aspirant, every year brings a whirlwind of emotions, especially when it comes to securing a seat in one of the reputed medical institutions. This year, many like me were caught in the crossfire of unfulfilled hopes and the search for the best options available. Here, I share my journey, including the excitement and challenges of joining KMC Manipal, while also discussing the experiences of fellow aspirants who are planning to join this esteemed institution.

Ranking and Selection Process

For those aspiring to join prestigious medical institutions, the prevailing environment is highly competitive. With a 19k rank and a domicile in Delhi/UP, the prospects of getting into a decent college through state counseling seemed bleak. Consequently, I opted to apply for KMC Manipal, ranking it at the bottom of my list but retaining hopes for it among the higher AIQ/Govt options. My primary hope was to find a preferred college through the first round of counseling, and by the grace of predictions, I ranked 8-9k, a keen 17k rank now seems both shocking and disappointing amidst the exciting possibility of KMC.

Despite the initial letdown, the reputation, facilities, and research opportunities offered by KMC Manipal provided a solid foundation for my aspirations. Therefore, I am thrilled at the opportunity to join KMC Manipal, an institution renowned for its exemplary medical programs and unparalleled campus life.

Personal Journey of Joining KMC Manipal

My journey towards joining KMC Manipal began with a 582 marks and a 28952 rank in NEET 2020. After the 1st round results were announced, I was faced with the stark reality of not securing a government MBBS seat, prompting me to search for good private colleges in UP.

Thanks to my father's encouragement and advice from my friends, I finally decided to apply for KMC. The final decision was not taken lightly, as many suggested opting for low-ranking GMCs in UP due to lower fees. However, after examining the offerings of these GMCs and comparing them to KMC, it was evident that the latter surpassed them in every category. Moreover, many seniors referred to KMC as the “paid AIIMS,” emphasizing the quality of its education.

With a 14818 rank and 612 marks, I successfully got into KMC Manipal through the first round of MCC. This was also my 2nd attempt after taking a drop year from Allen Kota, making the decision to join KMC Manipal even more pivotal for me. The confidence boosted by this decision can be seen in the celebration pictures shared, symbolizing the infinite belief in success and opportunity.
