Radiowave Propagation (RF): Essential for designing and analyzing radio waves used in communication and navigation systems. Materials Science: Tackling the development of advanced materials for aerospace applications. Avionics: Concerned with the integration of electronic systems and equipment in aircraft and spacecraft.

Performance-Based Financial Assistance and Job Placement

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Department of Space (DOS) offer significant financial support to IIST students. ISRO/DOS has the first right to absorb students who excel in their programs, provided that these students meet the organizational requirements.

Students who are offered a job in ISRO/DOS are required to serve for a minimum of three years as a Scientist/Engineer – ‘SC’. Those who fail to accept the job offer are liable to pay Rs.10 lakhs as a penalty, contingent upon a signed surety bond.

Job Placement Details

Once absorbed, students are posted as Scientist/Engineer – ‘SC’ in any ISRO/DOS center. The initial pay scale for these positions is Rs. 21000, within the Pay Band PB-3 of Rs. 15600-39100, with a Grade Pay of Rs.5400/-, and Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance as applicable.
