This form of financial assistance helps make education more accessible to students whose family income falls below a predetermined threshold each year, enabling them to pursue higher education. Additionally, LPU offers financial aid specifically for orphans and those with specific disabilities.

Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)

Eligible applicants falling under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) or special categories such as single mothers, single girls, students from minority groups, transgender students, or non-traditional students can apply for financial aid. The program offers a 30% scholarship on the program fees, making higher education more affordable.

Financial Assistance for Orphans

LPU provides comprehensive financial assistance to support orphans' access to higher education. The advantages of this plan include the waiver of the entire program fee and examination fees. An individual is considered an orphan if both parents have passed away, or if they have been abandoned and no one has legally adopted them. A guardian is legally designated to manage the affairs of a minor due to the death of their parents.

Residential Amenities for Orphans

Under the program, 20 seats are available in certain university programs. The applicant must pay for all residential amenities, including lodging, meals, and laundry. Additionally, an attendant accompanying an orphan may be allowed to remain in the same hostel room without additional costs, but they may sleep on the floor and no additional bedding will be allowed in the room. For security reasons, the institution will provide free turnstile gate passes to all attendants, but students will need to pay to have their passes reissued.

Financial Assistance for Individuals with Specific Disabilities

To enhance access to education for individuals with cognitive and locomotor disabilities due to spinal cord injuries, LPU offers financial assistance. The advantages of this plan include a waiver of the entire program fee and examination fees. A person with a benchmark disability is defined as having at least 70% of a specific disability, as quantified by a certifying body. Dumb and deaf disabilities are excluded, and a person with a locomotor disability due to spinal cord injury (SCI) is unable to perform specific tasks related to moving themselves and items.

Financial Assistance for CAFPF (Central Armed Police Forces) and Their Relatives

LPU is dedicated to supporting our hardworking Central Armed Police Forces (CAFPF) and their families. The financial assistance program covers members of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Railway Protection Force (RPF), National Security Guards (NSG), Special Frontier Force (SFF), Assam Rifles, Border Road Organization (BRO), General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Military Engineers Service (MES), Defence Security Corps (DSC), and Ordnance Factory Board.

Scholarships for Board toppers

LPU also offers a unique scholarship program for the top 20 rank holders from recognized school boards, both state and central, with at least 1000 students appearing for the exam. The advantages of this program include the complete elimination of program fees and a complimentary four-seater air-cooled room in the hostel or free transportation, if residential facilities are not available.
