Am I Ready for an MBA from a Renowned B-School? Evaluating My Academic Profile

My undergraduate degree (BE/BTech) was completed with a distinction in Electronics and Telecommunication from the Mumbai University.

I was averaging a 99th percentile rank, but I ended up with a 97.6th percentile on the day of the 2009 CAT because of nervousness. I also performed well on the XAT, achieving a 98.3th percentile, and did fairly on the discontinued JMET, securing approximately a 98th percentile rank.

Among them were three IITs (Kharagpur, Kanpur, and Roorkee) and other renowned institutions such as XIMB, MICA, and TAPMI. Although my academic performance was impressive, I noticed a trend in the subsequent process. After the initial shortlisting based on academics and test scores, the selection process shifted towards interviewing candidates to assess their personality and group dynamics skills.
